Mayor Vrbanovic and Post COVID Trends
May 09, 2022 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Mayor Berry Vrbanovic - In-person Meeting - May 9

Unfortunately, due to the rising number of COVID cases in this six wave, we are switching this meeting back to an online event via ZOOM and registration is no longer required.

As the province moves to reduced post pandemic restrictions we are looking at returning to more in-person meetings.  We are also looking at exploring some alternate venues.

Our May 9th meeting is set to be held at the Charcoal Restaurant.  We will have a fully private room with lunch served at a cost of $34.00 with tax and gratuity included which is to be paid in advance as part of registering for the event.  Our guest speaker will be Mayor Berry Vrbanovic speaking on Post Pandemic Trends in the City.  Our meeting will run from 12:00 to 1:30 as they have done in the past but the room will be available at 11:30 and members are welcome to come early and network.

In keeping with current COVID restrictions, it is not required for attendees to be fully vaccinated but it is highly recommended.  However, masks are to be worn when not consuming food.

Lunch includes coffee or tea and dessert as well as one of the following main entrée options.  Please review to facilitate quick ordering and serving at the event.  Dietary restrictions will be accommodated by the server at time of order.

CHARCOAL BURGER fresh ground Norwich township beef, smoked bacon, Monterey jack cheese, dill pickle, tomato, shredded lettuce, roasted garlic aioli, butter toasted sesame bun served with fries.

LIVEWELL BURGER plant based black bean patty, cheddar sheeze, roasted sweet pepper, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, habanero lime aioli, toasted artisan bun served with fries.

Visit to rare Charitable Resource Reserve
Jun 06, 2022 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

The “rare” Charitable Research Reserve is a community-based urban land trust and environmental institute that protects over 1,200 acres of highly sensitive lands across 7 properties in Waterloo Region and Wellington County.  The organization manages over 12 kilometres of trails free and open for the public.  They seek to make the world a more sustainable place.  They believe we can achieve this by acknowledging that people are a part of the environment.  By working together, we can protect our natural spaces for our enjoyment and well-being, today and into the future.

Join us for this family-friendly event beginning at noon.  We will enjoy a Gourmet Boxed Lunch from EVO (see below) in the Slit Barn followed by a presentation and a trail walk (walking shoes recommended).

Please note that we are not at the old Nicholson Tavern on the right when you first get into Blair, their main office.  We are further down Blair Road on the left at the Slit barn pass the Walter Bean Trail entrance (watch for our sign).
