The “rare” Charitable Research Reserve is a community-based urban land trust and environmental institute that protects over 1,200 acres of highly sensitive lands across 7 properties in Waterloo Region and Wellington County. The organization manages over 12 kilometres of trails free and open for the public. They seek to make the world a more sustainable place. They believe we can achieve this by acknowledging that people are a part of the environment. By working together, we can protect our natural spaces for our enjoyment and well-being, today and into the future. Join us for this family-friendly event beginning at noon. We will enjoy a Gourmet Boxed Lunch from EVO (see below) in the Slit Barn followed by a presentation and a trail walk (walking shoes recommended). Please note that we are not at the old Nicholson Tavern on the right when you first get into Blair, their main office. We are further down Blair Road on the left at the Slit barn pass the Walter Bean Trail entrance (watch for our sign). Lunch will be provided at a cost of $25.00.
