Bill Proctor provided us with a number of options for securing items for On-Line Auction (employers, businesses that we have recently dealt with (car dealership, renovator, restaurant, major appliance purchase), businesses of friends and relatives). Last year Bill took Judy, who volunteers at May Court in Belmont Village, along to visit many of the businesses there that she knew personally, and was able to secure items from most of them.
He also noted that a number of forms, including an "ask" letter that can be modified, are available on our web-site (Member Only Documents).
50/50 Draw
John Webster did not give the other tickets a chance when he immediately located the jack of hearts, claiming his share of $474. This was his second consecutive win.
Program Highlights
Adrian DeCoo, Paul Rostrup and Ernie Ginsler brought us up to date with our Strategic Plan revision.
As a reminder, our Plan was last updated in 2014, and its five year life will end in 2019. A planning meeting was held in January, and the Committee has met several times since.
Six priorities have been identified (Membership, Community Service, Fundraising, Governance/Leadership, Education and Our 100th Anniversary Celebration), and we have each been assigned to one of these groups.
We have been asked to think about our priority and expand on what we should be doing and where we might be in 2019, 2021 and 2023. Our group should get together prior to the next regular meeting.
Closing Remarks & Reminders
Have a happy Thanksgiving next Monday (no meeting). Remember to sign up for golf next Tuesday, and the meeting in two weeks time will be at Mercedes Benz Kitchener-Waterloo for our early bird draw.
