Program Highlights

Dave Chatson lead the membership through the new way to pay our dues online using our ClubRunner system. He believes that this new system will make it easier and more secure for those using their credit cards to pay their dues. The individual member has control of the when and how they pay their dues now. The old way left members credit card number on paper that could have been lost or misplaced therefore not that secure. Dave explained the procedure by stating that an email will again inform members that payment is due. When email shows up, it will include an invoice of the dues owing; the member just clicks on "PAY NOW"; confirms USERNAME and PASSWORD on ClubRunner to LOGIN. Go to "My Transaction" then enter CREDIT CARD NUMBER and PRESS DONE. An email will then confirm the transaction. If not able to do it this way then you can download a permission form so our treasurer or Dave can manually access your credit card for payment.
Darren Sweeney also hilited ways to use ClubRunner for updating your personal profile by logging in and going to "MY PROFILE" There will be a photo of you and your personnal information which you can update. Darren also spoke about a new smartphone App that members can download and use to locate club stories executive members and attendance tracking; also has district member info, as well as, their stories and events.

Bryn Jones, a recent inductee, gave his, "WHO AM I?" talk today. He spoke of Family first telling us that his parents emigrated to Kitchener from England, so he grew up in the region. His father being a college professor and his mother working in an office at UW; he had a strong upbringing in academics. He has a brother in Windsor who runs a furniture store; while his immediate family consists of his wife Lena and their two kids [a son and a daughter]. They also have their pet dog. From his early days, he has been an outdoor person taking part in pioneer re-enactment projects with his parents. He has always been involved in Martial Arts since age 14 as a personal hobby. His family enjoys skiing in the winter months especially at Chicopee where he learned and Blue Mountain.
He graduated in Engineering and works for Walter Fedy in the Facility Asset Management area.  He helps businesses identify costs in energy savings; actual uses for the building and unfunded liabilities. Many preventative measures are outlined for maintenance programs to reduce operational costs. They look for partnerships where adequacy benefits can be used. He also is involved with Conestoga College in their engineering degree program.
What brought him to Rotary was his interest in international projects like 'POLIO PLUS' and our involvement in local community organizations like KidsAbility.
