Kitchener Rotary Visits Rock This Town
Mar 27, 2023 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

On March 27 Kitchener Rotary Will Experience Rock This Town

We will have a private tour of this intriguing exhibit at the Waterloo Museum.  We will learn about a forgotten time in the history of KW – when rock music drove the culture of the community.  The entrepreneurs who helped to create the local music scene in the 60’s and ‘70’s can inspire today’s music makers and audiences to recognize the value of live music as a critical part of our community’s cultural eco-system.  The exhibit builds on the documentary film released in March 2022, and enhances and adds to the film’s narrative.  Our tour guides will be Jennifer Huber and Betty-Anne Keller, the producer of the documentary.

The entrance fee for this event is being covered by the club's Program Committee but to help with organization we do ask that those intending to attend register by Friday, March 24.  This is a family friendly event and guests are welcome and should be registered as well.

For those that are interested, we will grab a bite at the Pickle Barrell afterwards.

For more information check out the Rock This Town description on the Waterloo Museum website.

Club Visit to Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy
Apr 24, 2023 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Join Us for a Tour of the Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy

Drayton Entertainment is a well-known award-winning, not-for-profit charitable organization that produces the finest in live theatre at seven venues in southwestern Ontario. Each theatre maintains its distinct identity, but at the same time, combines the strengths and energy of all to provide an entertainment experience that is unparalleled.

What is less well known is that they operate a youth academy that offers classes for various ages, summer camps and special events.  We have the opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour of the school led by David Connolly who is currently helming the Academy.

There is no cost for this family friendly event and for those interested we will gather after the tour at the Waterloo State & Main for fellowship and dinner.

To help with organization we would like those planning on attending to register by Friday, April 21 and to indicate in the comment box if you are planning to be a part of the dinner group.  As always, if you are not planning on attending please DECLINE the invitation when you receive it.
