Club committees are where much of the great work of the Rotary Club of Kitchener is done. Below you will find information on current Club Committees, as well, you can view our Club Committees Brochure (pdf).

100th Anniversary

Mandate
This committee is charged with the planning of our 100th Anniversary of our Rotary club in 2022. 

Car Draw

Mandate
Organizes the Club's most significant and longest running fundraiser to support the Kitchener Rotary Charitable Foundation. Car Draw ticket sales usually start in the Summer with our members encouraged to sell tickets throughout the Community and hosts the 'car draw' at a Kitchener Rangers game.  An online car draw will be investigated in 2020.
 

In Vino Caritas

Mandate
Organize and operates an annual ticketed fundraising social evening event open to the entire community.
 
 

Online Auction

Mandate
This committee organizes our online auction fundraiser event. The subcommittees include marketing, logistics and procurement.
 

Partnerships - Local Lager & Golf North

Mandate
This committee managers the relationships with other partnerships that we have.

Catch the Ace

Mandate
A working group made up of the 5 Rotary Clubs in Kitchener Waterloo is in place to review the opportunity of holding a Catch the Ace online fundraiser.  This is expected to kick off in August of 2020.

At Work in our Community

Mandate
Provide leadership and direction for club support of community needs.  Ensure continued operation of club’s commitment to existing long-term community service projects. Projects include Cruising on King Street, K-W Cluster KidsAbility Fun Day, New Year's Eve in Downtown Kitchener and the State of the Region Luncheon.
 

Community Projects & Grants

Mandate
Focuses on our efforts to support our local community needs and ensures continued operations of our club's long-term community service projects.
 

Environment

Mandate
Focuses on our efforts to support the environment by organizing club and family & friends events such as the Dom Cardillo Trail clean-up.
 
International World Stage
Mandate
Focuses on our efforts internationally, interfaces with Rotary International for granting purposes and seeks to ensure that our Club is expanding it's goodwill across the World Stage.
 
Peace Building
Mandate
Focuses on our opportunity to work the the Rotary Peace Centre at the University of Waterloo and other local and global peace initiatives.

Meeting & Club Services

Mandate
Ensure the effective and efficient operation of regular and special club meetings and provide bereavement and good cheer support for all members.
 

Financial Services

Mandate
Ensure the effective and efficient operation of rotary accounts and assists with the club's budgeting and financial needs.
 
Membership & Friends of Rotary
Mandate
The Membership Support Committee strategizes to both attract new and retain existing members, as well as ensure approval, welcome and orientation of new members. It also supports our Friends of Rotary initiatives.

Program & Social Committee

Mandate
Ensure appropriate variety and balance of programs for all club meetings through solicitation and setup of our speaker line-up, offsite meetings and social events.
 

Communication & Public Relations

Mandate
This Committee is charged with helping to promote our club and Rotary in the larger community. This committee works with other committees to increase the awareness within the club for opportunities to promote Rotary.  Internally this committee ensures members and friends of rotary receive accurate and timely communications through e-newsletters.

Youth

Mandate
Ensure an ongoing, strong and active youth-leadership initiative within the club.  Extend the reach of our Club to the broader Community to engage youth through Interact, Rotaract (Rotary Clubs for University or high school aged youth) or RYLA (Youth Leadership Camp) sponsorship and mentoring. 
 

Youth Exchange

Mandate
Ensure the successful operation of the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program at the club level for our club.
