Group Study Exchange

More than 2,000 people travel each year on Group Study Exchanges. The program provides travel grants for teams of non-Rotarian business and professional persons from paired Rotary districts to spend four to six weeks abroad, learning about life and work in another country. These are organized through the District. The committee selects local candidates for G.S.E. and arranges hosting for in-coming G.S.E. teams touring our area.

Rotary Foundation/World Community Service/Polio Plus

The mission of the Foundation is to support the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. The purpose of the committee is to engage in club-level activities that support its programs and keep members informed about Foundation Funded programs from disaster relief to scholarships to the 3H program (Health, Hunger and Humanity). Also key, is the encouragement of members to support the Foundation by becoming Paul Harris Fellows.

World Community Service - uses the resources, both human and financial, to assist the needy throughout the world. From a blood bank in India to mosquito netting in South Africa, World Community Service committee is our link with the "Global Village".and through matching grants from Rotary International and government agencies, our money can have a major impact.

Rotary has committed to eradicating Polio by 2005 and there is an international and district commitment to achieve this goal. This committee would spearhead ideas that might help the cause and be our liaison with district.

Youth Exchange

The program promotes world understanding to qualified young people by sending high school aged youth abroad for a year to study and gain insight into a culture different from their own. Committee advertises, screens and selects candidates for outgoing students and arranges hosting for inbound students extending hospitality to non-Rotarian students from other countries who are attending school locally.
