Club Mtg. - Not in My City Anti-Human Trafficking
Sep. 28, 2026 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Not In My City - Anti Human Trafficking Campaign
with Cherri Greeno and Insp. Aaron Mathais of the
Waterloo Region Police Service

Human Trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes nationally and globally, generating billions of dollars annually, second to illegal arms trafficking and the drug trade. You can help put a stop to this by becoming an ally and joining in on the Not In My City Campaign. This campaign was created by Paul Brandt to raise awareness and take collective action to prevent and end human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Cherri and Aaron have been working with several organizations in Waterloo Region to help bring awareness and show how, when we all work together, we can put an end to this terrible crime.

Club Meeting - The KW Basketeers
Oct. 26, 2026 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

The KW Basketeers - Helping Women and Children in Our Community

The KW Basketeers raise money and collect new items from our local community, family and friends to put together baskets of items to donate to women and children living in the YWCA’s supportive housing units.  Last year they donated 45 large baskets and 45 smaller bags with items to 90 women and 30 children.  They use any money raised to buy gifts for the children and to supplement any items needed for the baskets to keep them equal.  Some examples of items found in the baskets are: towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, dental hygiene items, coffee mugs, tea towels, socks, winter hats, mitts, gloves, cake/cookie mixes, chocolate and gift cards to Tim Hortons or Walmart.

Last year our club supported this group with a financial donation and on Monday, October 26, coordinators April Scida and Jody Goddard will be our guest presenters to tell us more of their efforts and how our contributed funds helped them with the work they do.

NB! Pre-Registration and meal selection is required for both you and your guest!

This will be an evening meeting at the Double Tree by Hilton in the Michigan Room with dinner served at a cost of $35, tax and gratuity included; paid in advance when registering.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the program commencing at 7:00 p.m.  Dinner includes coffee or tea and one of the main entrées listed below.  Indicate your meal selection and any dietary restrictions in the comment box on the registration confirmation screen.

Online Auction Sign Pick Up and Distribution
Oct. 31, 2026 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Online Auction Sign Distribution
Your Help is Needed!  Response Requested!

A significant number of people who purchase items on our Online Auction indicate that they learn about the auction through our roadside / lawn signs. And, again this year we need your help to distribute these throughout the region.

Our Sign Distribution has two components again this year.

1. All members are asked to pick up 2 or 3 signs to put up at their homes and/or place of business.  These will be availbale at our regular meeting on October 26.  If you are not able to attend this meeting

2. We need an additional 8 to 10 members to take about 10 to 15 signs each and distribute them in a geographical area in the region assigned to you. This will only take about 1.5 to 2 hours at the start of the Auction on November 7.  Note: Signs should not be set up prior to November 7.  We wil provide you with the rules for where signs can be placed.

Signs will be available at our Hubert Singh's Warehouse on the morning of Saturday, October 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon - 265 Breithaupt Street, Kitchener.

All members are asked to respond by Thursday, October 29 and indicate in the Comment Box that:

1. You will participate in the full Sign Distribution in the region and pick up the signs on Saturday, October 31.

OR

2. You will just be able to take 2 or 3 signs for use at your home and/or office and will pick these up at our meeting on October 26 or on Saturday, October 31 (please indicate which date).

OR

3. You would like to have 2 or 3 signs to have at your home and/or office but are unable to pick them up on October 26 or 31 and will need to make alternate arrangements to get them.  We can deliver!

Please remember, we need your help to make the Auction a Success!
