A Tribute to Dave Martindale On Monday November 17 we will be having a tribute to former member Dave Martindale. Dave was a member for over 30 years who was instrumental in Kitchener Rotary becoming active in Rotary International Service and who played a major role in the creation of our Rotarian African Women's Education Fund (RAWEF). He also assisted many other District 7080 Clubs in running successful international projects. In recognition of his many contributions to Rotary International Service, Kitchener Rotary has donated $10,000 towards the building of a school in Kenya, with a section to be named in his honour. Please join us on November 17 as we hear more of work and contributions Dave made to international projects and we pay tribute to his outstanding Rotary service. NB! Pre-Registration and meal selection is required! We will be at the Charcoal Restaurant for this meeting in our regular room with lunch served at a cost of $32, tax and gratuity included; paid in advance when registering. Doors open at 11:30 with the program commencing at 12:00 noon. Lunch includes coffee or tea and one of the main entrées listed below. Indicate your meal selection and any dietary restrictions in the comment box on the registration confirmation screen. Deadline for registering is Thursday, November 13. Main Entrée Options: Chicken Cobb Salad: chicken romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese crumble, bacon, avocado wedge, hard whole egg, maple mustard vinaigrette Charcoal Burger: fresh ground chuck, smoked bacon, monterey jack cheese, dill pickle, tomato, shredded lettuce, roasted garlic aioli, toasted brioche bun Fish Tacos: trio of blackened blue cod tacos with cabbage, guacamole, cotija cheese and pico salsa topped with a roja aioli, cilantro & green onion Creole Chicken Naan’wich: blackened seared chicken served in a garlic buttered naan bread with cabbage, tomato, roja aioli and onion crisps Vegetarian Pad Thai: stir-fried vegetables, egg, bean sprouts, spiced peanuts, rice noodles, scallions, cilantro, sweet & sour peanut sauce |

The Power of the Rotary Foundation Through District and Global Grants - Tom Mennill - The motto of the Rotary International Foundation is "Doing Good In the World", and it truly is amazing all of the Good we Do indeed Do! When clubs develop local or international projects they can, depending upon the nature of the project, apply for District or Global grants to increase the funds available for the project. Kitchener Rotarians support the Rotary Foundation through the Every Rotarian - Every Year program by donating $100US annually. Join us on Monday, November 24 as our very own Tom Mennill, the Director of the District Foundation Committee explains how the system works and provides examples of the tremendous good done by the Rotary Foundation. This meeting will be at KidsAbilitry in Kitchener, but we will be ordering everyone's favourite catered lunch - Gourmet Sandwiches from EVO for just $26.00 each.
