Club Meeting - The Working Centre & ABTC
Sep. 14, 2026 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The Working Centre, A Better Tent City, and Kitchener Rotary
an Update with Joe Mancini

For several years Kitchener Rotray has had a supportive relationship with A Better Tent City (ABTC) which has now come under the control of The Working Centre.  On September 14 our guest speaker will be Joe Mancini, the Director of the Working Centre who will tell us what this change in management structure will mean for A Better Tent City and our relationship with them.

Joe Mancini was part of the group that established ABTC back in 2020. During those years, The Working Centre (TWC) focused on responding to growing homelessness.  At the height of the COVID Pandemic, TWC supported 230 people in shelter.  Five years later, presently, each night the Working Centre is supporting close to 220 people in different shelter forms including ABTC.  Joe will describe this work and give context to the wider work of The Working Centre.

Be sure to join us for this important and timely presentation.

NB! Pre-Registration and meal selection is required!

We will be at the Charcoal Restaurant for this meeting in the Board Room with lunch served at a cost of $32, tax and gratuity included; paid in advance when registering.  Doors open at 11:30 with the program commencing at 12:00 noon.  Lunch includes coffee or tea and one of the main entrées listed below.  Indicate your meal selection and any dietary restrictions in the comment box on the registration confirmation screen.
