Online Auction Sign Pick Up and Distribution
Oct. 31, 2026 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Online Auction Sign Distribution
Your Help is Needed!  Response Requested!

A significant number of people who purchase items on our Online Auction indicate that they learn about the auction through our roadside / lawn signs. And, again this year we need your help to distribute these throughout the region.

Our Sign Distribution has two components again this year.

1. All members are asked to pick up 2 or 3 signs to put up at their homes and/or place of business.  These will be availbale at our regular meeting on October 26.  If you are not able to attend this meeting

2. We need an additional 8 to 10 members to take about 10 to 15 signs each and distribute them in a geographical area in the region assigned to you. This will only take about 1.5 to 2 hours at the start of the Auction on November 7.  Note: Signs should not be set up prior to November 7.  We wil provide you with the rules for where signs can be placed.

Signs will be available at our Hubert Singh's Warehouse on the morning of Saturday, October 31 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon - 265 Breithaupt Street, Kitchener.

All members are asked to respond by Thursday, October 29 and indicate in the Comment Box that:

1. You will participate in the full Sign Distribution in the region and pick up the signs on Saturday, October 31.

OR

2. You will just be able to take 2 or 3 signs for use at your home and/or office and will pick these up at our meeting on October 26 or on Saturday, October 31 (please indicate which date).

OR

3. You would like to have 2 or 3 signs to have at your home and/or office but are unable to pick them up on October 26 or 31 and will need to make alternate arrangements to get them.  We can deliver!

Please remember, we need your help to make the Auction a Success!

Club Event - Tour of Research Institute for Aging
Nov. 02, 2026 6:00 p.m. - 8:08 p.m.

Tour of Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging

The Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA) is a charitable, non-profit organization that enhances the quality of life and care for older adults through research, education, and practice. We connect research to the real world and tackle the biggest issues facing an aging population. Our innovative approach to research is helping to change the way we age in Canada.

As a follow up to our previous visit and the presentation from the Institute, and the interest expressed by members, we have arranged for a full tour of the facility on Monday evening, November 2.  We will gather at the entrance at 5:45 with the tour starting right at 6:00 p.m.  The building is fully accessible.  Following the tour, for those interested, we will re-convene at a local restaurant for dinner and fellowship.  Note: Our visit is after hours, and once the tour begins, the RIA entrance will be locked but entrance through the Village at University Gates buildings (Building 2, retirement home, and Building 1 wil still be possible.

When you enter the driveway off Laurelwood Drive, keep to the left and go past the retirement home to find Building #4.  Please do not park in any of the reserved spots.  Overflow parking is available across Laurelwood Drive at the Stork Family YMCA.

There is a limit of 20 for the tour and to help with organization please register by Friday, October 30.  Familly and friends are welcome, please add them as guests when you register.
